Brief History of the Founder
Mr Elaionisofien David Akuru, also known as Mr Magik/D prof, is the founder and CEO of D Magik Brand. Mr Akuru is not only the brain behind a brand that is the fastest growing online learning platform in Nigeria with well-seasoned instructors who have vast wealth of knowledge, experience and outstanding results, but also the author of the best mathematical series that will break the barrier between hybrid curriculums: D Magik Series.

Mr Magik had been a teacher right from his childhood, as many of his friends can attest. He started gathering and teaching his friends right from primary school! Yes, you heard right, from primary school!

Educational Background
Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Mr Akuru attended UPE Model Primary School, Borikiri, where he won several awards, including the Gifted Children’s Mathematics Award, as well as the SPDC Junior Secondary School Scholarship. He also won the federal government scholarship into Federal Government College, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, but decided to attend Emarid College, Harbour Road, Rivers State, where he got his junior high school education.

His outstanding academic performances gained him another SPDC scholarship, with which he got admission into the then best science school in Rivers state, OMPADEC Science Centre (OSC), now Niger Delta Science School (NDSS). Mr Magik represented OSC in science competitions from his second year in senior school (SS2) and later rose to the rank of the Head Boy of the school. He was also the head of the prestigious JETS Club in the school.

Mr Magik/D Prof gained admission into the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) in 2001 to study Mechanical Engineering. However, along the line, he won the Rivers State scholarship to study in Russia in the year 2006 (during the administration of His Excellency, Sir. Dr. Peter Odili). Notwithstanding the fact that he had already spent 5 years in RSUST, he took the scholarship and went on to start afresh, to still study Mechanical Engineering, but this time in the Kuban State University of Technology, Krasnodar, Southern Russia.

Mr Akuru Elaionisofien, in the year 2012, graduated as a specialist (a combination of B. Tech and M.Sc.) in Pneumatics, summa cum laude, as the best graduating foreign student with a CGPA of 5.0, out of 5.0!
As a sophomore undergraduate at the Kuban State University of Technology, Mr Akuru represented the university in the Russian National Olympiad in Mathematics and Theory of Machines.

Mr Magik, for the love of his country, came back home, after studies, in 2012, with hopes of securing a very good paying job in the oil and gas, but as the saying goes: man proposes; God disposes.
Notwithstanding the challenges Mr Akuru faced, he decided to pursue his first passion and God-given talent, teaching. And ever since then, he has impacted positively on the lives of countless students and even undergraduates.
Because of his love for teaching, he decided to run a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) to help him work better with his dynamic students.

He is currently a further mathematics instructor at Jesuit Memorial College (JMC), Mbodo, Aluu, Rivers State, Nigeria. He was the H.O.D of the Mathematics department in the same school for four years, with mind-blowing results.

Achievements
The team of seasoned instructors at D Magik brand, have produced candidates who got the highest scores in the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) in Jesuit Memorial College, Port Harcourt (a record yet to be broken), students on 100% university scholarship, to prestigious American universities, (a record yet to be broken), and best graduating A level students, both in Nigerian institutions and those studying overseas.

Mr Magik and his team have also taught students who have won several levels of scholarship to the best high schools in Nigeria (James Hope, Gonzaga Jesuit College, Okija, Anambra State, The Ambassadors Schools, Ota and Lifeforte International school, 1 Lifeforte Boulevard, Awotan GRA, Ibadan, Oyo State, and still counting). They are proud tutors of students who have recorded a minimum of 90 out of 100 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)!

Mr Magik’s further mathematics students, in Jesuit Memorial college, have recorded 98%, sometimes 100%, A1 in Further Mathematics and Mathematics in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with no records of C4!
Yes, you read it right, no single records of C4 for 8 years of WASSCE in further mathematics!
Mr Akuru has prepared students for the Math Olympiads for Elementary & Middle Schools (MOEMs) and they did not only win but became the best in Nigeria.

Mr Magik also trains skilled and unskilled workers in SHL exams on Numerical Reasoning, Inductive/Deductive Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning, Error Coding, Abstract Reasoning, and many more and the success rates are outstanding.

Marital Status
Mr Akuru is married to Mrs Progress Akuru, and God has blessed the union with two lovely daughters. He is family-oriented and values every moment he gets to spend with his beautiful family.
